Dr. Richard Pan Wins Primary Election For California’s 6th Congressional District
Pediatrician, Health Advocate, Small Business Owner and Father, Dr. Richard Pan Will Face MAGA Republican Congressman Kevin Kiley in November
SACRAMENTO CA – Today, Dr. Richard Pan won the Primary Election for California’s 6th Congressional District and will be the Democrat to face MAGA Republican Kevin Kiley in a nationally targeted General Election which will determine the majority in Congress. Dr. Pan released the following statement:
“The voters of CA-06 have chosen, and I am humbled by the results,” said Dr. Richard Pan. “People in this district are struggling as the cost of gas, food, and housing spike and health care is being taken away by the Trump Administration. This district deserves a Congressmember who has worked to improve lives in our neighborhoods and will represent the people to make sure the government works for us. I will be that Congressmember.
I am honored to be the Democratic nominee, and I would like to thank Lauren Babb Tomlinson, Martha Guerrero, Thien Ho, and Tyler Vandenberg, who stepped forward to run on important issues for our communities.
Kevin Kiley is a rubber stamp for Donald Trump who voted with him 98% of the time, and Donald Trump himself called Kiley a ‘MAGA Champion.’ No efforts at political gamesmanship changes these facts, nor the point that MAGA and MAHA policies are hurting families across this district.
As a doctor who has spent his career caring for patients, protecting children, lowering the cost of insulin, and obtaining health care for four million more Californians. I am ready to deliver for the people of California's 6th Congressional District."
CA-06 is one of Democrats' strongest pickup opportunities in the country. Following the overwhelming passage of Proposition 50, the new district now gives Democrats an 8 point advantage. Dr. Pan was previously elected to represent over 70% of CA-06 in the State Legislature, giving him strong name recognition and an established coalition of support for the general election.
