SEIU California Endorses Dr. Richard Pan for Congress In CA-06
Sacramento, CA — SEIU California, representing more than 750,000 workers across the state, has endorsed Dr. Richard Pan in his campaign for Congress in California’s 6th Congressional District.
SEIU California cited Dr. Pan’s lifelong commitment to expanding access to healthcare, recognition of the value of quality public employees, and his proven record of standing up for working people as a pediatrician and former State Senator.

Dr. Pan brings firsthand experience organizing and defending workers’ rights. Early in his medical career, he helped secure collective bargaining rights for resident physicians nationwide, even after facing threats of professional retaliation for his labor advocacy. As a State Senator, he earned the trust of labor by consistently standing with workers and advancing policies that strengthened workplace protections and expanded access to health care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pan has partnered closely with SEIU members — from public sector workers to health care workers — listening to their concerns, standing with them on the job, and fighting to ensure working people have a real voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

Dr. Richard Pan is a pediatrician, educator, small business owner and Former State Senator dedicated to keeping California’s families healthy and safe. In the State Senate, he championed landmark child and school safety laws and lowered the uninsured rate among children by two-thirds – taking on RFK Jr. twice after preventable disease outbreaks. A Harvard-trained pediatrician and UC Davis professor, he has cared for underserved children, trained future doctors and co-founded Healthy Kids Healthy Future, providing health coverage to more than 65,000 kids.
