On Dobbs Anniversary, Dr. Richard Pan Calls Out Kevin Kiley’s Extreme Anti-Abortion Record

Kevin Kiley Celebrated the End of Roe v. Wade, Opposed California’s Abortion Rights Amendment, and Continues Pushing a Dangerous Anti-Abortion Agenda in Congress

SACRAMENTO CA – On the fourth anniversary of the Supreme Court’s disastrous Dobbs v. Jackson decision overturning Roe v. Wade and stripping millions of women of their constitutional right to abortion, Dr. Richard Pan released the following statement on “MAGA Champion” Kevin Kiley’s continued support for an extreme anti-abortion agenda: 

“Four years after Dobbs, American women have lost their freedom to make decisions about their own health and body resulting in a significant rise in maternal deaths in states with abortion bans. Kevin Kiley celebrated the Dobbs decision, and in Congress, he supported federal efforts to restrict the freedom of California women,” said Dr. Richard Pan. “Kiley is out of touch with Californians and spent his political career supporting anti-abortion extremists, earning perfect ratings from special interest groups determined to criminalize reproductive health care.

Californians have repeatedly voted to protect reproductive rights and access to abortion care. Health care decisions should be made by patients and their physicians, but Kevin Kiley wants to intrude politicians into the exam room to remove health choices from patients. As a pediatrician, I want patients and families to have accurate information and the right to make decisions about their own health without government interference. In Congress, I will fight to protect that right.”

Kevin Kiley voted for health care cuts in H.R.1, which forced the closure of five Planned Parenthood health centers in Northern California. 

Kevin Kiley has backed efforts to restrict access to medication abortion.

Kevin Kiley voted to block abortion access for servicemembers and veterans. 

Kevin Kiley supported legislation exposing doctors and health care providers to criminal penalties for providing reproductive care.

Kevin Kiley voted against measures that prevent insurance companies from imposing greater costs and barriers for beneficiaries seeking access to abortion care.
